Fluxes at Divergent Plate Boundary Environments Analyzed in Time and Space
A Horizon Europe Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network - started in Fall 2024
|
FluxBEATS is a recently funded doctoral training network that will investigate global elemental fluxes that control biogeochemical cycles and formation of the mineral deposits at divergent plate boundaries. It is at the forefront of current fundamental research on seabed and on-land resources and will study the magmatic, hydrothermal and biological processes from the mantle through the crust to the hydrosphere, and from the Archean to the present.
FluxBEATS is designed to provide doctoral candidates excellent professional and personal training in environmental and analytical geosciences. This includes state-of-the-art field, analytical, modelling and software techniques, and soft skills such as effective dissemination, exploitation, and outreach. The next generation of Earth Scientists trained in FluxBEATS will be leading experts in geological and biogeochemical analysis and modelling that are critical for the sustainable exploration of mineral resources on the seafloor and on-land and the Critical Raw Materials Act required for the future energy transition, supporting the European Union’s Green Deal initiative and commitment for a sustainable future.
